LP-UP seal with Nonflow functionality

Typically, dual mechanical seals have a flow of buffer fluid 2-4L/min (pure water). This water is poured mostly straigh down the drain without thinking any more about this cost.

Nonflow is an excellent solution to stop water consumption. The LP-Nonflow seal was designed for this purpose already in 1993.This means that in most cases closing the fluid outlet is possible and the only requirement is that the barrier fluid is pressurized (at least the process pressure + 2 bar). Leakage through the seal faces is the only buffer fluid consumption which is roughly  50L/year

Benefits

  • The smallest possible buffer fluid consumption
  • Better running conditions for the seal --> No flow, no new impurities brought to the seal housing
  • Buffer fluid consumption is so small that it is easy to filter. Even on spot at the seal.
  • The heat remains in the process --> No unnecessary cooling and even the frictional heat from the seal is brought in to the process
  • The most enviromentally friendly double acting seal solution available

Operating limits (not all maximum values at once)

  • Buffer fluid pressure max: 10 bar
  • Product temperature max: 100 ºC
  • Sliding velocity of the sal faces 10m/s
